SUSPENSION
AFS SUSPENSION
Our AFS suspension design provides 2.5mm of rearward axle path or commonly known as "normal" axle path. This is where the rear wheel starts out moving rearward, followed by forward movement through the completion of travel. This type of axle path provides a more poppy and lively feel on the trail and is the preffered choice for lower travel bikes where being light and nimble are more desirable.
PROGRESSIVE LINKAGE
For our shorter travel bikes, we have designed to a lower progressivity, to ensure more compliance at lower speeds than our enduro bikes. The leverage ratio graph shows a soft small bump compliance followed by a progressive drop to support bottom out resistance. At 120mm of rear travel, this curve is supportive against big bottom outs and allows for supple bump management.
FRAME FEATURES
FLOATING BRAKE BRACKET
Brake jack (anti-rise). Who out there hasn't had to slow down when grabbing the brakes in rough terrain? With a 55% anti-rise value, the AFS floating brake bracket eliminates any need to slow down in the rough and allows the rider to focus on the trail. As the suspension moves through its travel, the brake bracket maintains the position of the brake to the ground / caliper and ensures that any inertial compressive forces on the suspension are eliminated. It does this by rotating and sliding on bronze bushings, shown below the arrow in the diagram. All of this adds up to phenomenal braking traction while riding. Try it for yourself and feel the difference.
ADJUSTABLE HEAD TUBE ANGLE
If tuning is your thing, the AFS suspension provides a flip chip for a .5° change in the head tube angle. This is done by loosening the shock link bolt shown in the diagram to the left and flipping the chip from the high to the low position. The chip allows for a change from 66.8° to 66.3°.
INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
When noise is a concern, have no fear. The cables all have internal routing guides in the frame for noise free operation. To add to the benefit, assembly is greatly improved as fish wires are no longer required when putting your bike together. Just push the cable in at the head tube and it comes out the other end.
TRAVEL ADJUSTMENT OPTION
Our travel adjustment option really comes in handy especially if you are wanting to up your suspension game but really like your current bike and don't want to spend the money on a new one. We offer an LT link that frees up 20mm of additional suspension travel from the stock setting of 120mm. Just swap the ST link for the LT link, exchange the shock for the longer spec (210x55) and now you have a 140mm of rear suspension travel. More flexibility for your money.
