Owen Davis Suffers Mechanical in Vail Lake Enduro

[Temecula, CA] Eminent Factory Enduro rider Owen Davis began his 2023 season on January 22nd in Temecula, Califortnia at Vail Lake. The race consisted of 3 total stages and is the first of four in their Social Enduro Series for this year.

Feeling extremely confident after a few days of stage training, Owen made a pre-race decision to run Maxxis Dissectors to give himself a better rolling tire. Unfortunately, he suffered a punctured tire in his last training lap. Confidence remained high however, going into Stage 1 with a patch repair. In fact, Owen put in what will have been his best stage of the day, finishing in 2nd place, less than 2 seconds behind the stage leader.

Sadly, his tire puncture reared it's ugliness again going into the third corner of Stage 2. The patch repair failed and cost him the Stage as he had to write it off and walk it out.

Before starting Stage 3, Owen inserted a tube into his punctured Maxxis Dissector. Mid-stage his tube began to leak and lost tire pressure rapidly. He finished the 3rd and final stage in 4th place.

At the end of the day, Owen placed 20th due to the mechanical woes. An unfortunate way to begin his season, but lessons were learned none the less. Needless to say, Owen is now even that much more eager to put up serious results in his next race in Fontana, California for their Southridge Winter DH Series.
