Owen Davis Bounces Back in Race #2 With a Place On The Podium
[Fontana, California] Eminent Factory Enduro rider, Owen Davis headed to Fontana, California for the second race in his 2023 schedue. Adamant to bounce back after his mechanical issues in his first race the week prior, Owen trained hard in practice, even while getting acquianted with a new set of TRP brakes. He also replaced the Dissector tires that failed him last week with a new set of Maxxis Minion DHF with DH casings.
Fontana's stages were short and fast, which suits Owen's 'sprinting' style very well. In fact Stage 1 was only a minute and a half-long track, and Owen charged down, ending in 2nd position just a second off the Stage leader for the day.
Stage 2 was a tad longer at around two and half minutes of track. It was far more of a "pedally" track with tighter corners, proving to be the most challenging of the 3 stages for the day. Owen finished only 6 seconds behind the day's leader, in second place.
Stage 3 was very fast... a one minute and twenty-second long track that didn't pose too much of a techical challenge, but it was all about getting to the finish line as fast as possible and with the least amount of mistakes. Owen finished only 2 seconds behind the stage winner, once again in P2.
Owen's second race of his 2023 enduro season resulted in a much more familiar fashion, with a seat on the podium in second place for the day.
